Record a payment (full or part)
Log money received against an invoice. The balance due and the invoice status update for you, whether it's paid in full or in parts.

When a customer pays you, record it against their invoice. Travada Books keeps a list of every payment on the invoice, works out what's still owed, and moves the invoice to Part-paid or Paid on its own.
Record a payment
- Select Invoices and open the invoice. You can record payments on any invoice that's been sent: Sent, Part-paid or Overdue.
- Select Record payment at the top.
- Amount is filled in with the balance due. Leave it for a full payment, or change it to what you actually received.
- Set the Payment date, and choose the Method you were paid by.
- Add a Reference, such as a transaction code or cheque number, and a Note if you want. Both are optional.
- Select Record payment.
The payment appears under Payments on the invoice, with the date, amount and who recorded it.
Part payments
If the amount is less than the balance due, the invoice becomes Part-paid and shows the balance still owed. Record each later payment the same way. When the payments add up to the total, the invoice becomes Paid.
The balance shows everywhere the invoice does: on the invoice itself, in your invoice list, and on the customer's page.
Paid in full in one go
If the customer paid the whole balance and you don't need to note the details, open the invoice, select the ••• menu and choose Mark as paid. This records one payment for the remaining balance, dated today.
If the customer paid too much
If you enter more than the balance due, Travada Books tells you by how much. Tick the box to confirm the overpayment before you can save. If you then change the amount, you'll need to confirm again.
Fix a mistake
To remove a payment recorded by mistake, find it under Payments on the invoice and select the bin icon, then confirm. The invoice goes back to part-paid or unpaid, and the balance is worked out again.
Good to know: Each payment you record is also added to your Transactions as money in, dated when you were paid. Your dashboard counts the money as it arrives, not all at once when the invoice is finally settled.
